Vinci brought in Oasis to provide decorative resin flooring to the new Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at Bath's Royal United Hospital. The architect's specification called for a resin system - decorative, seamless and hardwearing floor finish.

The screed was primed with penetrating epoxy primers to give good strength and then a 3mm self-smoothing resin was applied. Next, the floor was completely scattered with a special blend of Resin Surfaces Smoke Flake to produce a decorative effect.

The floor was then sealed to ensure a very smooth and easy to clean surface, followed by a matt seal coat to provide light anti-slip properties. The covings were formed with a thixotropic mortar and specialist coving trowel and then sanded to a smooth finish.
