In the offices and toilets to this new build project vinyls and carpets provide a cost effective flooring solution. The laboratory however required a flooring solution which could meet the requirements of a strict A-rated hygiene environment. A chemically resistant resin system was the only solution.
100mm integral covings installed to enable easy cleaning down and ensure dirt and other contaminates could not be trapped in the wall/floor join. Green quartz is mixed with a clear resin binder and hand-trowelled smooth. Two coats of clear sealer are then installed to provide a perfectly smooth seamless finish. A matt seal coat with very fine anti-slip beads is then rollered onto the finish to ensure health and safety requirements are met.
The system can be powerwashed regularly and resists all the chemicals (even in undiluted format) the laboratory has to use.
