A new oil storage facility had been designated by this industrial client. The existing concrete base was sound so new reinforced concrete walls were shuttered and formed. A rounded cove detail was installed to help protect the wall/floor join.
The concrete was then diamond ground under vacuum to provide a good key and an epoxy primer applied by brush and roller. The primer soaks into the concrete to provide a chemical and structural bond. Two coats of Resutop 100% solids epoxy paint was applied to give approximately 500 microns dry film thickness. The Resutop epoxy paint is a very hardwearing chemical resistant coating that will not crack or brittle over time.
