Jordans Brook House is a development centre providing opportunities for children with learning or physical disabilities to try new activities, have fun and gain independence.
As part of the garden project a concrete path was installed to allow the children to wander around the reflective mirrors, plants and water features. To introduce colour and a sense of excitement - particularly beneficial for children with visual impairments - the concrete winding walkways and play areas were finished with a multi-coloured resin bonded finish. Installed in bright patterns using recycled glass a fun and stimulating environment was created.
To complete the project a dragonfly design was installed with a mixture of all the glass to create a multi-coloured effect. From a safety aspect the 1-3mm sized recycled glass was rounded off and fully bonded into the resin.
