  • Reinforced hygiene coating to walls; 2-3mm self-smoother to floor

Hosting weddings and classical concerts Pittville Park is a Grade 1 listed building. Oasis were brought in as part of the kitchen upgrade and commissioned to install new hygienic wall and flooring systems.

The existing walls were well past their best with loose and broken ceramic tiles harbouring bacteria with ingrained dirt discolouring the grout lines. Oasis first removed and replaced the loose and broken tiles. An epoxy bonding primer was applied followed by one coat of Sterisheen, a Liquid Plastics hygiene wall coating. Into this first coat lightweight fibreglass matt was imbedded with cross-stitching of all joints ensuring a seamless finish. The application of a second coat of Sterisheen then produced a very hardwearing and easy to clean surface. Joints, limited to where work surfaces meet the walls, were protected with a hygiene mastic that prevents growth of mould.

On the floor most of the ceramic tiles were starting to become loose and were removed to expose the concrete base. The base was prepared and primed with an epoxy primer. A 2-3mm self-smoothing resin was then applied to the floor and integral coves. The system was finished off with beads incorporated into the final coat to produce the essential anti-slip finish required in commercial kitchen environments.
