After refurbishment of
sports facility

Working with Cheltenham Borough Council, Oasis helped transformed this run down sports pavilion into an energy efficient facility for sports clubs and community groups. By installing durable anti-slip flooring surfaces and low maintenance hygienic wall coatings to compliment the solar heating, the running costs and carbon footprint of the pavilion have been significantly reduced.

The concrete floors had been previously painted but the high wear the floor received from 800 pairs of boots every week resulted in a break down of the floor finish making cleaning difficult. Diamond grinding the concrete removed the contamination and provided a structural key prior to priming and installation of a 2-3mm heavy duty epoxy resin. Sealed with an anti-slip seal coat incorporating a 150 micron bead, chosen as its still very easy to clean (mops are generally used), the new system provides the required level of safety together with easy maintenance.

An anti-microbial plastics based finish provided the solution for internal walls. Cleaning considerations were paramount and this system is very easy to maintain, resisting washing down with a variety of cleaning agents. The full list of resistance to bacteria, mould and yeasts is found on hygiene coatings. A wide range of colours is available to meet specific design requirements.
