The elegant trees lining the front elevation of the new House of Fraser in central Bristol are anchored in golden tree pits. The 6-10mm Rhine Gold aggregate was also used around the uplighters. The system tolerates pedestrian foot traffic whilst also allowing water to pass down to the roots of the tree.
In the centre of town 22 artistic impressions of trees were finished with the resin tree system, which, while not requiring the porous advantages, required a colourful warm golden finish echoing the treatment given to the real trees and in keeping with the design of the development.
