The concrete to this bund had been heavily corroded by aggressive chemicals stored in the tanks. Before installing the Ucrete system all loose and contaminated concrete was chiselled out back to a sound substrate and cementitious repair mortars used to build up the wall and plinth bases.
Once the repairs had been carried out 4mm Ucrete WR - a polyurethane resin based render - could be installed to the walls and plinths. Diamond grinding the floor under vacuum then provided a structural key for the installation of Ucrete Primer SC, applied by brush and roller. A 6mm polyurethane screed - Ucrete UD200 - installed by rake and closed with a steel trowel completed the system.
The Ucrete system has excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals even highly corrosive acids and solvents that would degrade other floor types rapidly. With a track record over more than 30 years in some of the worlds toughest environments Ucrete is not known as the world's toughest floor for nothing.
