A former monastery now housing Raymond Blancs latest eating establishment sits in the centre of Quakers Friars in Bristol's new Cabot Circus development. Around the front elevation new fastigate trees planted using resin bound aggregate (RBA) bases, together with benches and a fountain, create a tranquil contemporary public space.

Traditional tree planter solutions tend to migrate the infill to the surrounding area and trap litter. RBA tree bases eliminate these problems by using natural aggregates (6-10mm golden stone) mixed with Addastone resin to bind the stone together whilst maintaining narrow pores to permit water ingress. The result is tree pits that feel sealed to foot traffic or cleaning regimes but allow water and nutrients to feed the roots.

The trees continues to breath and thrive in their new contemporary urban setting and with the installation of uplighters lend added drama during the hours of darkness.
