This former office was marked for revamp and transformed into an important goods receipt workshop.
Lifting the carpet exposed a heavy latex and previously painted floor in pretty rough condition. The floor was uneven and the previous paint system was failing. Oasis scabbled (sometimes termed planed or vonarxed), the floor to remove the latex and the failing paint, providing a structural key for the subsequent screed.
A 6mm pumpable screed was applied over the entire area to provide a much smoother level surface. Only a very limited number of specialist screeds are capable of being installed at this thickness and still provide an extremely hardwearing floor. Once it was cured a high-build epoxy paint system was applied over the area to seal the surface and enhance light levels.
The goods-in workshop floor is now doing the business.
