The new rig was constructed in 2007, by a French company but their paint system could not withstand the harsh weather conditions of the UK, particularly at out at the end of an exposed runway. Within 18 months this expensive rig was heavily rusted.
Oasis were contacted to prepare and repaint the rig in an appropriate system. All loose paint was scraped back and wire-brushed back to bright steel. An epoxy bonding primer was applied as necessary and then Oasis utilised the Sigmadur system. This is a two-part polyurethane paint with excellent asset protection qualities. It is UV resistant, important to maintain the bright white finish, and has a superb track record, even in the harshest weather conditions.
